LaJuanna Taylor

La Juanna Taylor’s love for music and the business of music started at a young age in Los Angeles, California. Recognizing the power of music as a youth, her interest in the “how” and “who” was creating music was fed by reading the credits on the inserts of albums in her parents record collection. From this interest and growing affinity for music, she joined a singing group while taking voice lessons with the infamous Seth Riggs. It was her sessions with the world renowned vocal teacher to the stars, she saw gold and platinum plaques from the likes of Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Barbara Streisand, Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker and many more that inspired her to focus her energy on working in the music industry. Music was a constant in her home and family. One cousin was signed to Motown Records in the 1980’s and had a chart topping single being played on the radio while another cousin was producing music for the likes of Ice T and Howard Hewitt…this was more fuel to La Juanna’s desire to learn all she could about the music industry. After graduating from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1998, she decided to pursue her dream of working in the music industry and move to New York City. Once in the city, La Juanna began her journey with starting an independent record label that led her to work with Sha Money XL and Teamwork Music. Teamwork Music at the time was managing local Queens rap phenomenons P-Dap and 50 Cent. The success of 50 Cent and G-Unit landed her a position working with the G-Unit Promotions Director and team. After her time spent withTeamwork Music and G-Unit, this experience allowed her to grow relationships that encouraged her to start managing and developing up and coming R&B singers. Working with producers and songwriters like Ky Miller, Red Spyda, Soul Diggaz, The Underdogs Steve Russell Harts, Hitmen’s Ahmen Ra, Big Drawz and many more helped develop artists that were signed her company, she was able to learn the tenements of developing talent. Eventually, La Juanna was asked to help a friend with running his independent label, Vox Music Group that had just signed KyMani Marley . From this, La Juanna was able to learn the inner-workings of a label more intimately and where she’d sharpen her skills by being responsible for office operations, overseeing marketing and radio promotions, artist relations and much more. Her most memorable accomplishment at Vox Music Group was supporting the release of KyMani Markey’s “Radio” album and acting as his tour support as the opening act in 2007 on the Van Halen Tour. Returning back to her hometown Los Angeles in 2010, La Juanna continued working in music by managing and working closely with Steve Russell Harts. As one of the lead singers for the chart topping group Troop and Grammy Award Winning singer songwriter, Steve and La Juanna would Co-Executive Produce his fist solo project titled “So Random” and release it under his indie label Motel Music. Since then, La Juanna created her indie label Ivervine Entertainment and Ivervine Studios in North Hollywood that focuses on artists development.
