From the age of 4, music has been a fixture in the life of Michael Spellman. He began by learning to play the drums as a child which led him on a path that he continues to travel today. With a background in jazz, latin, reggae, and rock, his drumming knows no bounds. He spent his teenage years performing with several different local bands throughout many of the major concert venues in Connecticut. In 2005, he began his quest to become an accomplished producer. He successfully established a local buzz in October of 2010 when he won the award for beat battle champion at the New England Music Seminar.

Beat Wiz credits some of his influences are Pete Rock, J Dilla, Quincy Jones, Just Blaze, and John Bonham. While he has begun to make a name for himself with his production in Hip Hop, he does not like to limit himself to any one genre. "Disturb your comfortability", as he once said. We can be sure to hear much more from him as his promising career continues.
